3D printing post-processing and functional fillers

Additive manufacturing creates the shape, not the finished surface. We supply diamond micron powders, pastes and suspensions for the operations where printing is followed by precision dimensional and surface finishing — and diamond fillers for those who formulate the printing material itself.

Four points where diamond enters the 3D printing chain

Not a generic “powder for 3D printing” category, but four concrete production situations — each solved with its own fraction and carrier.

CP1

Finishing metal AM parts

SLM/DMLS: Inconel 718, Ti-6-4, stainless steel. Removing support marks and bringing the surface to a specified roughness.

CP2

Dental zirconia restorations

Grinding and polishing of sintered, additively printed zirconia crowns and frameworks: accurate fit and preparation for glazing.

CP3

Filament and compound fillers

Diamond and nanodiamond powders as functional fillers for polymer matrices: wear resistance, thermal conductivity, mechanics.

CP4

Additively made diamond tooling

A direction where diamond or a diamond-bearing composite is itself the printing material — grinding heads, profiled tools, abrasive structures.

Why diamond specifically

Post-processing additively made parts means working on already-solidified, often hard-to-machine material: heat-resistant nickel alloys, titanium, sintered ceramics. Abrasive hardness must clearly exceed workpiece hardness — otherwise material removal happens at the expense of the tool rather than the workpiece. Diamond is the hardest abrasive available, so for these materials it is not an upgrade but the baseline condition.

CBN complements diamond where the material is hardened steel or cast iron: diamond is undesirable there because of chemical interaction with iron at elevated temperatures.
